General Terms and Conditions of the JankoMade Online Shop
Effective from: 19.9.2026
1. Seller and Contact Details
The seller and operator of the JankoMade online shop is:
Business name: Ján Szabó – JankoMade
Place of business: Šamborská 352/25A, 040 01 Košice
Company ID: 57 895 228
DIČ: 1081625600
VAT ID: Not VAT-registered
Email: jankomade@jankomade.sk
Phone: +421 915 070 238
Online shop: https://jankomade.sk
In these terms and conditions, the seller is also referred to as “JankoMade” and the buyer as the “customer”. A consumer is a natural person who acts outside their business or professional activity when making a purchase.
2. Scope
These terms and conditions govern purchases made through the JankoMade online shop and the relationship between the seller and the buyer.
The purchase contract is concluded in Slovak. These terms and conditions are published on the online shop website, and buyers can read them before submitting an order.
Provisions intended to protect consumers apply to buyers who are consumers to the extent required by law.
3. Product Range and Characteristics
JankoMade primarily offers wooden reliefs and decorative products. Products are CNC-machined and then hand-sanded, finished and surface-treated.
Individual pieces made from natural wood may differ in grain, texture and shade. Hand-finishing may also result in small variations between pieces. Colours shown on a monitor or display may differ slightly from the actual appearance. These natural variations alone do not constitute a defect if the product matches its description and agreed characteristics.
Each product is marked as either in stock or made to order. Customisations such as a particular size, inscription, design or colour finish must be agreed separately before the contract is concluded.
4. Placing an Order and Concluding a Contract
The buyer submits an order using the online shop’s order form. Before submitting it, the buyer can review and edit the details, ordered products, delivery and payment method.
By submitting an order, the buyer confirms that they have read and agree to these terms and conditions. The order button must clearly state that submitting the order creates an obligation to pay. “Order with obligation to pay”.
After submitting an order, the buyer receives confirmation that it has been delivered. The purchase contract is concluded when the seller accepts the order and sends confirmation of acceptance to the buyer. If the order cannot be accepted or fulfilled, the seller will inform the buyer without undue delay.
5. Prices and Payment
All prices are shown in euros. Delivery costs and any additional fees are displayed during checkout before the order is submitted. Before confirming the order, the buyer can see the total price, including delivery and available fees.
Seller’s tax status: Not VAT-registered
For standard products, the buyer can use the payment methods offered at checkout:
- by credit card through the payment gateway available in the online shop,
- by bank transfer using the payment instructions,
- cash on delivery, if available for the selected delivery method.
For bank transfers, the order is handed over to the carrier after the payment reaches the seller’s account. For card payments, the order is processed once payment is confirmed. Cash on delivery is paid to the carrier when the parcel is received; the order may show an additional fee.
For products made to the customer’s individual requirements, payment in advance is required. Cash on delivery is not available for these orders. Production will begin only after the brief, price, dimensions and any other agreed characteristics have been approved and payment has been received.
The seller will issue the buyer with proof of purchase in accordance with applicable law and deliver it electronically or with the goods.
6. Availability, Production and Delivery
For a product marked “in stock”, the seller will begin preparing the order after it is received, or after payment is received for advance-payment orders. An in-stock product will normally be dispatched within 3 working days.
Production of a product marked “made to order” usually takes 1 to 2 weeks. This is the estimated production time; delivery may take additional time. If a different timeframe is expected for a specific product, the seller will state it on the product page or inform the buyer before accepting the order.
Shipments are delivered by Slovak Post, Packeta or GLS, depending on the options available at checkout. Delivery countries, available carriers and delivery costs are shown during checkout.
Unless a different period has been agreed, the seller will deliver the goods without undue delay and no later than the statutory deadline. If the seller learns that the agreed timeframe cannot be met, they will promptly inform the buyer and agree on the next steps.
The buyer may take possession of the goods once they have been received. We recommend checking the outer packaging on delivery. Any damage to the packaging should be reported to the carrier and documented; this does not affect the buyer’s statutory rights.
7. Consumer’s Right to Withdraw from the Contract
A consumer may withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason within 14 days of receiving the goods. If an order is delivered in instalments, the period starts when the last instalment is received.
The consumer may give notice of withdrawal by email to jankomade@jankomade.skor by post to the seller’s address or through the online shop’s withdrawal function. The notice must clearly state the decision to withdraw. The model form at the end of these terms may also be used for this purpose.
If the buyer uses the online withdrawal function, the seller will confirm receipt of the notice without undue delay on a durable medium, such as by email.
After giving notice of withdrawal, the consumer must return the goods within 14 days. The consumer bears the direct cost of returning the goods and is liable for any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the goods’ nature and functioning.
The right of withdrawal does not apply in cases set out by law, in particular to goods made to the consumer’s specific requirements, made to measure or clearly personalised. The fact that a standard product from the range is produced only after an order is placed does not automatically mean it was made to the consumer’s specific requirements. If a statutory exception applies to a particular order, the seller will inform the buyer before the contract is concluded.
8. Refunds After Withdrawal
The seller will refund payments received from the consumer, including the cost of the least expensive standard delivery method offered, no later than 14 days after receiving notice of withdrawal. If the consumer chose a more expensive delivery method, the seller will refund delivery costs only up to the price of the least expensive offered method.
The seller may withhold the refund until the goods have been returned or the consumer has provided proof that they were sent, whichever occurs first. The refund will be made using the same payment method as the original payment, unless the parties agree on another method at no cost.
9. Liability for Defects and Complaints
The seller is liable for defects in the goods to the extent and within the time limits set by law. The consumer may report a defect by email to jankomade@jankomade.sk or in writing to the seller’s address.
In the notice, we recommend including the order or proof-of-purchase number, product name, a description of the defect and how it appears. Photos may help with the assessment, but providing them is not a condition for exercising your rights.
The seller will confirm receipt of the defect notice and inform the buyer of the expected time to resolve it. The defect will be remedied within a reasonable period that does not exceed the statutory deadline, except where a longer period is justified by an objective reason beyond the seller’s control. Depending on the defect and statutory conditions, the buyer may request repair or replacement, a reasonable price reduction or withdrawal from the contract.
Natural grain, texture and shade of wood, as well as ordinary variations in hand-finishing, are not in themselves defects if the product matches its description and agreed characteristics. Damage caused by improper use or maintenance is also not considered a defect. The buyer’s statutory rights are not affected.

10. Alternative Dispute Resolution

11. Personal Data Protection
The seller processes the buyer’s personal data to receive and fulfil orders, deliver goods, communicate with customers, handle complaints and meet legal obligations.
Detailed information about the processing of personal data, data subject rights and contact details is provided on the separate page Privacy Policy
12. Final Provisions
Legal relationships not covered by these terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic. These terms do not limit statutory consumer rights.
Changes to the terms and conditions apply to orders placed after they are published. Contracts already concluded remain subject to the version in effect when the contract was concluded.
The current version of the terms and conditions is published on the JankoMade online shop website.
